What to know before your stay.
Pet / Animal Policy
While we adore animals, Peace of Joy Acres is a “Humans Only” property. We maintain a strict no-pet policy due to the needs of guests and some owners who are sensitive to pet dander and other allergens.
There are several pet-friendly accommodations within 20–30 minutes of Peace of Joy Acres, as well as an excellent local kennel. We are happy to provide referrals upon request.
Platform Cancellation Policy
If you book through platforms such as Booking.com, Airbnb, or VRBO, the rental agreement you sign with that platform overrides this agreement. Please review it carefully. See also our Holiday Cancellation Policy below.
For VRBO bookings, a 10% fee will be deducted to cover administrative costs and credit card processing fees incurred by Peace of Joy Acres. If you wish to recover the platform’s “guest fee,” please contact that platform directly, as these funds are not paid to us.
We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance at the time of booking.
Direct Booking Cancellation Policy
We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance.
- More than 60 days before check-in: Full refund minus a 10% cancellation fee (covers processing fees and administrative costs).
- Within 60 days of check-in: Non-refundable.
Major Holiday Cancellation Policy
Major Holidays include: Memorial Day, Labor Day, Independence Day (July 4), Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve (Dec 24), Christmas Day (Dec 25), New Year’s Eve (Dec 31), and New Year’s Day (Jan 1).
We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance at the time of booking.
- Guests may not check in or out on a major holiday.
- 90 days or more before a major holiday: 90% refund.
- Within 60 days of a major holiday: No refund.
Refunds
We are committed to providing guests with an enjoyable and memorable stay. If any issue arises during your visit, we will make every reasonable effort to resolve it promptly.
Refunds will not be issued for:
Peace of Joy Acres LLC reserves the right to issue refunds by check rather than credit card reimbursement.
- Dissatisfaction with the property you selected.
- Items or amenities not meeting your personal expectations.
- Any unused portion of your stay.
Travel Insurance
We highly recommend that guests purchase travel insurance to protect against financial loss due to unforeseen circumstances such as illness, injury, job changes, severe weather, or revoked military leave.

Privacy Policy
Data Sharing
Peace of Joy Acres does not share your personal information without your written consent. We store customer information in our customer relationship management system indefinitely to facilitate efficient communication. This includes data from bookings, blog/social media interactions, website inquiries, and text conversations initiated by customers.
Comments & Form Submissions
When visitors leave comments or fill out forms, we collect their IP address and browser user agent string to help detect spam.
Media
If you upload or post images on our website or social media, avoid including embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors can download and extract such data from posted images.
Cookies
If you leave a comment, you may opt to save your name, email address, and website in cookies for convenience, so you don’t need to re-enter them in future comments. These cookies last for one year.
Embedded Content
Some pages may contain embedded content (e.g., videos, images, articles) from other websites. Embedded content behaves exactly as if you visited that external site, which may collect data about you, use cookies, and track your interactions—especially if you have an account and are logged in to that site.
